Cahersiveen enjoys splendid views of the Fertha Estuary surrounded by Killelan, Castlequin and Cnoc na Tobar mountains.
Nearby the O'Connell Park offers visitors a tranquil setting for a peaceful moment, enjoying the river flowing past. A five minute drive away is the White Strand which is enjoyed year round for it's fresh air and amazing views.
The Daniel O'Connell Memorial Church is the only Church in Ireland, and one of the few in the world, which is dedicated to a layman. The organ, which was built in Cork in 1907, was refurbished in 2007 and those who attended a concert over the August 2007 festival were enthralled by the sound of this amazing instrument.
Eating out in Cahersiveen has seldom been as good as it is now with the recent addition of a new hotel in the centre of the town. Local specialities, including local fish catch, are available alongside Chinese, Indian food and fast food outlets with pizzas and burgers. All tastes are catered for!
